Where do you watch your videos

Post by HaKa on Thu Sep 18, 2008 3:21 pm

Hey!

I am just wondering about the many videos that can be downloaded here.

For books, I usually print them (I prefer paper) and then I read them.

For audio, it is simple: one of the mp3 players (the one that is not broken yet ;) ).

But for video, so far I have been only watching it at home.

I thought about buying an N95 8GB or Samsung 900 Omnia, but both seem to be seriously flawed (N95: USB 1, Omnia: very unstable, also both seem to have little battery life (2-3h of playback)).

So now I have decided to buy an Asus EEE 901 for my travelling self-improvement video pleasures. I hope it is small.. also, it should have 6h of video playback on accu. Also, I get it new for 240' (that is 10.000US$ ;) ).

What do you do Do you have any suggestions

Best wishes and keep improving!! :)

To be honest, i don't read that much, so i'll basically read them on my PC/Laptop. I have a lot of Self Improving "real" books so i'll read them instead.

For audio it's simple i have a lot of options:
1. PC
2. Laptop
3. Ipod nano (1 gb, actually won it)
4. MP4 Player 2 GB
5. Nokia N73 music edition mobile phone with 2GB card
I mostly use my Laptop and N73

For videos i use either my Laptop, DVD Player or to be more portable, i make them small and i watch them on my N73 which battery seems to last, but tiny screen, better than nothing i say.
I like the Asus Eee option, it's far more portable than average laptop.

PS: I would NOT recommend any Apple products, because they are expensive, you cannot upgrade them, they have limited options, and not many programs are developed for them. They are many other better alternatives than Apple's products. I'll have to admit they have style and are pretty stable, as for quality it is matched by many others.

Apple has always been more expensive. They are "cooler" and they want a lot of money for it.

Also I think the technology is slightly bettern than the competitiors, but if you dont have inifinite money and look at the ratio between what you pay and what you get, it hardly ever is a good solution. This became pretty obvious when you were able to buy Apple products with Intel CPUs.

About reading: I love reading and not caring about the paper it is written on. :) When I read a book, it usually looks like new when I finish it. So I like paper, which I can throw away at any point. Plus, I can print for free. :)

As for mobile phones and notebooks, at least over here, you can find great deals at Ebay with mobile phone contracts. You have to have a good credit rating and a bit more hassle (write several application forms and at the end cancel the contract), but you can save something like 25% on the price for a new device.

Best wishes!!
