Trying To Work My Plan

Post by jmad93 on Tue Feb 12, 2008 5:54 pm

I'm attempting to employ a couple of different techniques to reach my ultimate goal of financial independence. One of these techniques is to start up an online community in a way that I believe could be very profitable. The only problem is that I have no web development skills to speak of How can I find a skilled web designer and still be assured that they won't run off with my idea

I don't know that I ever seriously considered building this site myself, but you got me intrigued to the point that I may at least give it a shot. Thanks for the info.

One question, though. A couple months down the road when I'm generating thousands of hits a day, and it's time for me to upgrade the site, how difficult will it be for a professional developer to move any data I've accumulated into the new site I don't mind creating the 'beta' site, but it's going to need a much more refined look if I expect (insert billion dollar company here) to buy me out. So I want to make sure that I'm at least using tools that will allow my data to be manipulated with other applications/databases.

the only things which you'll have to move later on will be:
1) files of Joomla (download & upload)
2) SQL database (backup & restore)

can be done in few hours... :)
