I think, the concern of the topic author is not the statement that "the law of attraction is fraud" in the sense that it does not work. It is rather the experience that not everything you wish for will bring you happiness. In other words, he had expected that the fulfillment of a particular wish will bring him happiness. The wish has been fulfilled and he was disappointed or even frightened, because it did not bring him what he has expected.

This scenario reminds me (and possibly the author too) about films and stories where a character desperately wants something and meets the devil who offers him to fulfill his wishes. But the character realizes as soon as his wishes were fulfilled that the new situation does not give him the happiness he has expected. I do not really know what the reality or true origins behind the concept of the devil is, but I know for sure that often enough people do not really understand what they wish for and what consequences the fulfillment of a desire will bring.
