Lesson 1: Learn how to proofread. I don't know how to start you are own business, but I have an idea of how to start your own business. Great use of language makes you appear more competent, educated, and knowledgeable.

2: Know exactly what you want to do. (This may take some time to figure out.) Maybe you want to sell used books online or maybe you have a service you can offer to others.

3: Make a schedule and follow it! Have a list of things you're going to do tomorrow and do them. Maybe you're going to go research ideas for your business at the library between 10 and 11. Maybe you're going to post flyers around a college campus offering to buy their books so you can resell them between 11 and 12.

The best thing you can do it to TAKE ACTION! Planning and researching are all fine and good, but eventually, you've got to step out and DO something. Don't get caught up in the analysis paralysis. Don't be afraid to learn from your mistakes. Make a plan, set some goals, do a little research, and then commit to make it happen. If you fail, that just means that you need to re-work your plan.

Focus on the main idea.
When you start a business or a website, sometimes you can get distracted by offering complementary services or analyzing other possible forms of revenue.
The main purpose is to fulfill the potential of the main idea (the core business).
Don't be a perfectionist at the beginning, everything has to work out fine but you don't need to have the expectation of the perfect business from the start (experience and time will help you to fine tune your idea).
Once you will have enabled your main idea and your profits will start to arrive you can focus on other aspects of your business, like widening the services you offer or creating new ones.
There is always time to diversify and to add services but the first step is to realize the main idea and only when you have that pillar you can build on it.
Another step is take action soon as you can, commit to your idea with focus and patience (every good entrepreneur has a big dose of patience!).
Good luck! :)
