Agree with mamang, if you are reading detailed economics or law journals then you have to read at a slower pace especially if you want to be picking up on the smaller details and analysing critically the information as you go along. For many things like newspapers its good tho.

About speed reading, I remember that Tony Buzan wrote a very good book about it. I remember that I've read it some years ago. It was quite nice. It's a good book for beginners. :D

I'd actually like to input my own experience with Photoreading, and various speed reading programs.

Ed.Stracher -- Reading Geinus 2.0

This worked pretty well. It was relatively comprehensive.
Made my eyes sore after a little while. I could read 1PG/5-6 Seconds. Still too slow for me. I wanted faster. I heard positive things about...

Photoreading/Direct Learning:
This is something much more valueable. I started with some hard, technical topics. Chemistry, magnetism, Electricity... That was with the traditional 1Pg/Second.
My comprehension of the subjects after Photoreading 3 X 1200-3000 Page books; Scored about 88% with it going slowly.
The bottom line here -- When working with your "Pre-conscious Processes-er", whatever you beleive, you will do. This is firmly grounded with me, One day asking how I could make Photoreading Faster. I can now 'read' new 'Hard Concept' E-books at 12-20 PGS/Second.

Keep in mind, this isn't traditional 'reading' -- The word speed I'm hitting with even 10 Pages/Sec, is around 100,000 -280,000 WPM. I've heard of people nailing 30 Pages/Second with 95% Comprehension.
My experience thereafter, is a sharp intuition about the subjects at hand -- and that the concepts are at the tip of your tongue. It's a fantastic way to learn, because you're not drilling your left brain, and trying to 'force' your Long Term Memory/Right brain to remember it. I know when I get out of college, or When I get started with any information field -- I will be able to pick up everything very quickly.

Mixing the two of these programs is an awesome idea. My background with my own Neural-Work -- I've worked with hypnosis for the past two years, Meditate, and have taken several "Memory Courses". I have experience with NLP, and making my own hypnosis tracks. As a result -- I'm still in college, and save a TON of time on studying for top Marks in the class.

"If you think you can, or can't -- You're right."

In what I've learned my brain in capable of -- I wouldn't have believed it if I had told myself (Went back in time) What I could be capable of. In short -- Anyone's brain is powerful enough to Read at Phenomenal Speed, and retain 100% of it. A large deal of it is just belief in it.

I tryed phoreading and now Im trainig myself with Reading genius2 (2 months now) but I don't get positive results.

English is not my native language but since in my place speedreading is a weird topic (few do something, and badly, and the rest do not know anyrhing about it) I wanted to try

My improvementsin this are not so good... Ed talks a bit about the difference with photereading but the true difference I'm experiencing is that there is no comprehension at all.

I will try untill I make it thou... in a way or in on other I guess ^_^

Hope you natives get real results

Hey guys, ever tried Zox Training Program of Mental Photography? I don't know if any of you guys know but the zox company claims that Paul Scheele attended at a course there(see link below) and that's where he got his material... But they deny any affiliation with him:

"Subliminal Dynamics Brain Management® does not recognize any affiliation with Photoreading or Learning Strategies. Photoreading is a trademark of Learning Strategies and is not to be compared to the original and only true Mental Photography® process developed by Richard L. Welch, CEO and Founder of Subliminal Dynamics Brain Management."

I don't know anything about sales strategy or whatever and i didn't checked the Paul Scheele's material, it seems that he mixed the technique with speedreading or another gimnick. What i seen was Zox, and the original Mental Photography method, and i liked what i have learned there, it didn't looked like anything magical or supernatural.

This course can be a good alternative for anyone that is intersted on "photoreading", went through the Paul Scheele's material and got frustated or anything. If this is your case, hey... maybe you should give the Zox Training Program a try :D

You can download Zox here: http://selfmadevip.com/zox-training-system-brain-management-system-audio-book-t7879.html?hilit=zox#p32265

And also, if you did went through Paul Scheele's material, acomplished good results and after that you downloaded Zox training Program and compared both methods, send me some feedback about your comparing (i just read/listened to the Zox training System...)
