Countless threads have been made on "inspirational movies" but what about ambition

Here is my small list of movies

Into The Wild

Fight Club: I know that this might definitely be an odd choice, but Fight Club is truly about the inner masculinity and breaking out of our Oedipus shell. Fight Club becomes a metaphor for the need to push through the barriers we put around ourselves and really experience pain. Because without self-destruction, there is no reward to a better person. As such, the film really takes a heavy similarity between the notion of self-destruction, the inner complex of the mind, external signifiers of happiness, material objects, and really presenting a catharsis not only of the body and mind, but of the soul.

The Forbidden Kingdom: Playful, but still about ambition in overcoming the odds.

Vanilla Sky: A masterpiece from an English remake of Abres Los Ojos, Vanilla Sky deals with David Aames and his journey between the unlikely world he lives in, and the world he wants to escape into.
