I could answer your question, but since it was a recent view for me, all I'm gonna do is reference you to "BluePrint Decoded" by Tyler and especially the last DVD where he talks about the ego.

The program will blow you away, and that last bit will blow you away twice.

Those states of mind ARE REAL and exist, we're on a sub-forum discussing exactly that. How sustainable are they is another question.
