help needed with meditation

hi guys,
I am looking forward to start meditating as soon as possible. However, I have never tried it before, but truely believe (deep within) that it can really help me clear my head and focus on the goals I want to achieve.

1) Can someone please tell me about any audio/video (video would be better to actually see the sitting posture, etc) guide that i could start with?
2) How long does it take (days/weeks) to get into the deeper levels of meditation?
3) For how long should I practice it everyday?
4) What time of the day is most beneficial to get maximum results?
5) Some guidance to practice yoga for beginners would be nice too.

Please help me with the above questions so that I can start practicing it the right way. This SMV website is like a gift from the heavens to me.

As someone with enough experience in meditating i have one suggestion-search for a guru before you begin to meditate.some one who will properly guide you in the process.otherwise it is very dangerous(personally ive experienced it).especially as u become more involved in it.also find out what u actually desire to achieve thru meditation-spiritual growth, mental peace or just calmness,focus etc.all the best
