Hey dude,

I've gone extreme both ways. I was a shy teenager and to open up more I drank.
In college I gave up alcohol completely.

I hear what you're saying about alcohol... it can be quite attractive because it is quite affective in the moment (to change your state) and also everyone else is doing it ( everyone else are also getting a particular type of result in their lives - not exactly VIP).

The real question is how can you get all the benefits, feel that sense of life and passion, and have this ALL the time, or at least most of the time, with the need for alcohol?!

Here's what I would say, in order to open up more and activate your vulnerable state you need to do just 1 thing. That is... leave your comfort zone (CZ). Do things that cause you to break through your ego limitations example, start a conversation with a total stranger, buy a single rose and give it to a beautiful stranger, wear something a totally different (example cowboy gallon hat), go into McDonalds and ask for an Italian meal, when the cashier says they don't serve that, look at them totally confused as say... "I thought this was a Chinese restaurant!"

Maybe other people have some cool challenge ideas?

I want to briefly add on here. The reason you are having trouble opening up is because you lack confidence and/or you have a ridiculous fear. I say that because most fears are ridiculous. They are imaginary and highly negative at that. The difference between a fantasy and a fear is that a fantasy is positive. Now being someone who has had to work on opening up myself, I can tell you that letting go of that fear is the best way to go.

I think you may be afraid of rejection and I know from experience how paralyzing this can be. Browse around on the site because there are many different techniques to blast away that fear and add confidence in your life. It could be through NLP, Hypnosis, EFT, Sedona Method, Chakra work, ect. There are many different methods. Find one that works for you and make a change you'll thank yourself for.

I read on multiple places that 9 out of 10 things we fear, or worry about, never happend.
This is true according to my personal experience.

It is obvious that most people worry and fear things with no reason at all, and I know many know this intellectualy, we just need to make it ingrained in our personalities.

And btw, the surest way to fail anything, is to never try.
"I have not failed, i've only found 265 ways that don't work."

"When I put my finger into your eye, you will have a finger in an eye and I will have a finger in an eye but it won't be the same."
